Christian Testorf

Treasurer

Christian has more than 40 years experience in senior management and operations across a range of different European businesses and sectors. He specialises in start-ups, sales and marketing, MBOs, acquisitions and take-overs.  

Christian has been involved with The Leadership Trust, a learning centre for leadership and development, for more than 20 years.  

Roxane Caplan

Interim Chair

Strength & Learning Through Horses | Charity Trustees

Passionate about young people’s mental health and supporting the adults around them to help when it is needed, Roxane joined as a trustee to support the charity’s fantastic growth in size and structure.

She has directly developed some of our new organisational processes and policies. Roxane was Head of Services at Young Minds for five years until late 2023 and is now Director of Strategy and Operations at Spread a Smile, a charity which supports seriously ill children and their families.

Roxane is Interim Chair and Safeguarding Lead for the Board of Trustees 

Adrian Cooper

Adrian is a Senior Civil Servant with nearly 30 years’ experience working across HM Revenue & Customs and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. He brings extensive expertise in delivering public services, leading major programmes and supporting strong governance and financial oversight.

Adrian joined the board because he believes in creating better opportunities and lasting outcomes for children and young people.

As a trustee, he will support the charity in setting strategic direction and work with fellow board members to ensure the organisation makes a sustained and meaningful difference to the young people we support.

Niva Thiruchelvam

Strength & Learning Through Horses | Charity Trustees

Niva is passionate about supporting young people to access opportunity and to flourish. She has volunteered her time to support young people in a number of ways in the past, including as a mentor and as a school governor at a local primary school.

Niva is currently an executive at strategic advisory firm Hakluyt, supporting corporations and investors on the opportunities and risks facing their businesses. This follows nearly two decades in the civil service where she advised cabinet ministers on a range of domestic and international priorities - including overseeing nearly £80 billion to support education and skills across England.

Ketan Motwani

Ketan is deeply committed to promoting mental well-being and has a keen interest in equestrian sports. In February 2026, he joined SLTH’s board as a trustee to support its vision and ambitious growth objectives.

 Throughout his career, Ketan has held several C-Suite and NED positions within financial services organisations, where he focuses on designing and delivering board outcomes. His expertise encompasses Strategy, Operations, Technology, AI, Data, and Transformation. Currently, he serves as the Chief Operating Officer of an Insurance Underwriting and Capital Management firm.

Olivia Pay

Olivia has two decades of experience working as a marketing and communications professional, primarily in the media, entertainment and the arts. Past roles have included working in both commercial and not-for-profit sectors. Her expertise spans developing new audiences to support business growth, crisis management and increasing engagement across all communication channels. A lover of all animals, she has a particular fondness for horses and strongly believes in STLH’s mission..

Rebecca Graham

Rebecca is a Strategy, Governance and Change Consultant with a career spanning both the commercial and charity sectors. A former Deputy Chief Executive, she brings significant experience in organisational governance, strategic leadership and guiding organisations through complexity and periods of transformation.

Beginning her career in the retail and hospitality industry, Rebecca held strategic and commercial marketing roles with leading brands including Oddbins, PizzaExpress and GAIL’s Bakery, and completed a Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma. Ten years ago, driven by personal experience and a desire to deliver work with deeper social impact, she transitioned into the charity sector — a move that ignited her passion for purpose‑led leadership.

Since then, Rebecca has developed a broad and dynamic portfolio spanning strategy and planning, governance improvement, transformation and change management, communications and marketing, and commercial income generation. She has led strategic reviews, major organisational redesigns, governance development programmes, large‑scale change initiatives and brand and communications work, as well as supporting organisations through periods of crisis and even full charity closure. She is an accomplished project and programme leader, experienced in navigating Boards through difficult decisions and supporting leaders to deliver long‑term, sustainable change.

Sue Scarf

Sue is a seasoned HR Director with a proven track record in building high-performing teams and shaping winning cultures within some of the most demanding environments.

Her career includes international motorsport and advanced automotive engineering, working across Formula 1, World Rally Championship, World Endurance Championship and Le Mans programmes at Prodrive for over 25 years. Sue played a key role in laying the foundations for championship-winning teams—developing the people, behaviours, and cultural frameworks required to sustain elite performance under pressure.

She played a key role in developing Prodrive’s distinctive culture, creating behavioural standards and people strategies that positioned the organisation as a leader in performance-led people management.

Today, Sue founded her company Culture Collaborators Ltd, working with leadership teams to develop and sustain strong, values-driven cultures— improving engagement, retention, and long-term organisational performance. Her approach aligns people strategy to organisational purpose,  developing leadership effectiveness and behavioural insight, and robust , compliant, future-focused people practices.

As a trustee, she brings particular strength in HR strategy, governance and organisational development.

Alongside her corporate work, Sue is deeply committed to learning and development through horses. As an active rider with two horses competing locally, she brings a grounded, experiential understanding of the parallels between horsemanship and teamwork including trust, clarity and consistency.

Sue is a chartered Fellow of the CIPD and is also passionate about developing future talent, working with young people, schools, and charities to create pathways into careers and develop community engagement.

Diana Chen

A seasoned corporate banking and risk professional with diverse experience in global banks across Credit Risk, Aviation Finance, Enterprise Risk Management and Corporate & Institutional Client Coverage. Her recent role is Senior Vice President, Credit Risk.
