Horse Experience Days
Summer Holiday Horse Experience days
Join Strength & Learning Through Horses for practical, welcoming horse experience days designed to help children and young people build confidence, learn new skills and spend meaningful time around horses.
These sessions are not riding lessons. They are hands-on stable and horse-care experiences, giving participants the chance to understand horses, take responsibility, work alongside others and enjoy being outdoors in a supportive setting.
Each participant will receive a rosette and certificate of participation.
Younger Children: Ages 7–11
Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 August 2026
10:00am–2:00pm each day
£100 per child for both daysSuitable for children aged 7–11 who are able to manage themselves within a group setting.
Over two days, children will take part in horse care, grooming, stable activities and guided in-hand work, alongside time learning about the horses and their daily routines.
Older Children: Ages 12–16
Friday 21 August 2026
10:00am–2:00pm
£60 per childSuitable for young people aged 12–16 who are able to manage themselves within a group setting.
This one-day session offers a practical introduction to horse care and stable life, with opportunities to develop confidence, responsibility and communication around horses.

Community Coffee morning

Open to all! Visit us on the first Monday of the month for a chat about our work, our horses, and life in the yard generally.
This is a great opportunity for potential volunteers, professionals, and everyone else curious about what’s going on behind the green gates.

Introductory Training Day: The Basics of the SLTH Approach
Join us on Friday 9th October 2026, 10am–4.30pm, for an immersive introductory training day exploring the Strength & Learning Through Horses (SLTH) approach to working therapeutically with horses and young people. This workshop is open to anyone interested in equine-assisted therapeutic practice, including therapists, teachers, equestrian professionals, students, and those with a broader interest in horse-human relationships. The day combines theory, practical sessions, and reflective discussion. Participants will receive a CPD certificate.
